Proposals
A proposal provides an estimate or quote detailing work to be performed and the estimated cost for that work. A proposal is typically given to the customer for approval before the work is scheduled and completed.
See Job Documents for information on selecting job details for creating a proposal.
When creating a proposal, a modal dialog will be displayed, presenting a summary of the costs for the proposal. The modal dialog lets you quickly review the information before creating the proposal.
Use the Preview button to preview the proposal pdf. Preview allows you to review the proposal before creating it.
There are several options available for creating a proposal, including:
- Setting the date of the proposal. By default, the date is set to the current date, allowing you to back-date a proposal, or set the date to a time in the future.
- Changing part of the filename for the pdf that will be created for the proposal.
- Including a job description on the proposal. Setting the description on the job is optional.
- Appending your company's PDF contract to the proposal. See Company Information for instructions on how to upload your contract PDF. There is also a System Settings to default this checkbox to 'on' so that the contract is appended to a proposal by default.
- Emailing the proposal immediately after it is created. The email editor will be displayed, allowing you to edit the email and its recipients before sending it.
Several system settings can be used to configure how proposals are created. See System Settings.
Once the proposal is created, it will be displayed in the documents section of the job. Clicking on the Action Button (the ellipsis button with three dots) provides a menu of the various options available for the proposal.
