Work Orders
A work order is very similar to a proposal but is typically used for scheduling purposes. It provides details of the work to be performed and can be referenced by the person(s) performing the work.
See Job Documents for detailed information on selecting job details for creating a work order.
When creating a work order, a modal dialog will be displayed, presenting a summary of the costs for the work order to provide you with a quick review before creating the work order.
Use the Preview button to preview the work order pdf, allowing you to review it before creating it.
There are several options available for creating a proposal, including:
- Setting the date of the invoice. By default, the date is set to the current date, allowing you to back-date a work order or set the date of the work order to a time in the future.
- Changing part of the filename for the pdf that will be created for the work order.
- Including the job description on the work order. Setting the description on the job is optional.
- Emailing the work order immediately after it is created. The email editor will be displayed, allowing you to edit the email and its recipients before sending it.
Several system settings can be used to configure how work orders are created. See System Settings.
Once the work order is created, it will be displayed in the documents section of the job. Clicking the Action Button (the ellipsis button with three dots) provides a menu of the various options available for the work order.
When creating a work order, there is an option to include prices. The system setting Work order include prices controls the default value of this option. See System Settings.
Some businesses may want to provide a work order to the crew but wish to keep pricing information private from crew members.
