Form Templates
You can create custom forms for collecting and presenting information with form templates. A form template can be used with customers, intake, jobs, and resources.
An example use of form templates would be creating a Customer HVAC System Sheet where information about a customer's HVAC system is entered or a Customer Questionnaire.
To access Form Templates admin, click on the Admin menu option. Then select Form Templates.
Form Templates may seem complex at first, but after spending a bit of time creating them, most users find them relatively easy to use.
Form Templates are comprised of a few key elements that are nested in a hierarchy.
Form Template
A Form Template is comprised of one or more rows.
Rows
A row is comprised of one or more sections.
Sections
A section is comprised of one or more elements.
Elements
An element is a form input that presents a label and a control for the user to enter data or select an option.
To add a new Row, click on the Add Row button.
To add a new Section to a Row, click on the Add Section button in the Row header.
To add a new Element to a Section, click on the Add Element button in the Section header.
The Form Element Editor will be displayed. This editor presents several options for the type of Element to add. Each Form Element Type includes a description of what the Form Element is.
The Data Field Form Element Type differs from the other Form Element Types in that it does not present input or options for data entry. Instead, the Data Field type presents fields that will be populated from data in the system. For example, the Customer - Name field will automatically be populated with the customer's name and cannot be edited.
When an Element is added to a Section, it will display the Element with its label. Clicking on the Cog icon will display the Form Element Editor to edit that element.
Each Row and Section have an optional heading and description. To display these optional fields, check the Show headings/descriptions checkbox at the top right of the Form.
The footer of the Form Template editor has two buttons to preview the form.
Preview Edit will present a preview of how the form will look when being edited.
Preview View will present a preview of how the form will look when being viewed.
